D.C. is murder capital, again!! SafeStreetsDC Study of Washington DC as "Murder Capital"

While the D.C. police are escorting administration officials and dipolmats around town, people die.
While the D.C. police are providing "security" for peaceful protests against the Federal government, people die.

Too much time and resources are spent doing security work that should be the responsibility of the Capitol police (or the dozen other federal police forces around the city - like the zoo police). The D.C. police do get reimbursed for some of the financial costs of doing the security work, but that does not make up for the time the police should be patrolling the streets and preventing crime. It does not make up for the time the police should be working on solving the far too many unsolved murders in this city.
