Man Shot dead in NW

"Washington (AP) - Authorities say one man is dead and another remains hospitalized, following a robbery attempt this morning in a Northwest Washington apartment building.
Sergeant Joe Gentile, a D.C. police spokesman, says several men were approached by a man with a gun about 3 a.m. while in the lobby of the building on the 2800 block of 15th street.
Gentile says a struggle ensued and the weapon went off. He says 21-year-old Cervano Hernandez, who lived in the building, was killed after being shot in the head. Another man is hospitalized in stable condition after being shot in the chest.
Gentile says the suspect managed to escape, but the gun has been recovered. "
