Man shot dead in SE

"A Southeast man died yesterday after being shot several times, and police are searching for a suspect and a motive, according to Sgt. Joe Gentile, a D.C. police spokesman. Shortly before 5 a.m., police were called to the 3500 block of 22nd Street SE in response to a shooting and found Kevin Lofty, 31, of the 1400 block of Alabama Avenue SE. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099. The police may award as much as $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment."
