Tolls, I Say!!

This case was a loser from the start. If Congress wants to screw D.C., Congress can. It is in the F'n Constitution.

What I beleive is NOT in the Constitution, is the denial of our voting rights. Yes, Congress has exclusive juridiction - but it is against the principles of democracy to deny us representatives in that Congress. Just ask the late Justice Rehnquist - he did get a few things right.

"According to the General Accounting Office, the district suffers from a structural imbalance resulting in a budget shortfall of $470 million to $1.1 billion annually. The district is also prohibited from taxing federal land and nonprofit assets which collectively represent about 53 percent of the city's land." Court Tosses D.C. Commuter Tax Suit - WTOP Radio
