15yr old shot dead in SE

"WASHINGTON - D.C. police are looking for the gunman who fired onto a Southeast Washington street Saturday afternoon, hitting a 15-year-old boy.

Police say the victim was standing on the 3400 block of 13th Street with some others at around 12:45 p.m., when the suspect got out of a vehicle and started firing a handgun into the area, then fled.

Officers say the gunman was wearing a dark coat and dark trousers and that there was another man in the vehicle, which may have been a purple or dark-blue late-model minivan.

Police don't know if the victim was the gunman's intended target and are not releasing his identity because he is considered a witness.

Rewards of up to $1,000 are available for information leading to an indictment.
