Three Shot Dead

"WASHINGTON - Three people were shot and killed over the weekend in the District -- the latest deaths in a summer spike in crime.
A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 3900 block of 7th Street Northeast early Sunday morning.

On Saturday, police say 21-year-old Anton Coffey of Northeast was found about 8:30 p.m. suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1400 block of 'S' Street Southeast.

And police also are continuing their search for suspects in a shooting early Saturday that left a man dead at Seventh and Girard streets, Northeast.

Statistics show July and August usually are among the deadliest months in D.C.
